Das Filmfest provides insight into contemporary cinema of German-speaking countries. The logo of the 12th festival edition is graphically designed so that its three lines resemble film subtitles trimmed in the film screen format. The stylized font is based on the sans-serif FF DIN typeface, designed by Albert-Jan Pool. The lettering in different variations is an integral part of the festival identity. The choice of a font from the DIN family is not random, in Germany it is the norm in various fields. The visual identity of the 12th festival edition refers to the magic of film: to film tricks, the charming atmosphere of movie theaters, the ability of film to create a complex illusion and completely engross the audience.
