Das Filmfest provides insight into contemporary cinema of German-speaking countries. The logo of the 13th festival edition is graphically designed so that its three lines resemble film subtitles trimmed in the film screen format. The stylized font is based on the sans-serif FF DIN typeface, designed by Albert-Jan Pool. The lettering in different variations is an integral part of the festival identity. The choice of a font from the DIN family is not random, in Germany it is the norm in various fields. The visual identity of the 13th festival edition is based on reflections on the role of the screenplay: its ability to reflect both the world and the subject of the author, the degree of authenticity or manipulativeness.
