The international workshop Dok.Incubator is intended for documentary filmmakers whose films are in the rough-cut stage. Consultations with experienced mentors (established directors, producers, etc.) helps the authors complete within six months their films and prepare them for distribution or screening at film festivals.
The visual identity of the 5th annual workshop is based on its subtitle ‘Tailor-Made Workshop’ and likens the film production process to sewing a coat. Apparel lay plans with handwritten notes become a developing motif. It transforms in the various outputs of the visual identity as the films take on the final shape throughout the workshop. The specially created typeface is inspired by that used in the lay plans taken from 1970s Burda Style magazine. A characteristic feature of the typeface are ink traps, disclosed in the details of types. The typeface will remain part of the visual identity of the next Dok.Incubator workshops.
