The international dok.incubator workshop is designed for documentary filmmakers whose films are in the rough-cut stage. Consultations with experienced mentors – established directors, producers, and others – help authors complete their films within six months and prepare them for distribution or festival release.
The visual identity for the 10th anniversary edition of the workshop focuses on the themes of growth, development, and process. Here, a plant represents individual film projects, charting their evolution throughout the workshop – from the initial planting to the full bloom. Much like a living organism, a project does not grow on its own; it requires constant care, nurturing, watering, and sufficient light to prevent it from withering.
The goal of the "gardeners" (filmmakers) is for the plant to reach its peak – to be beautiful, perfected, and impossible to overlook. This almost surrealist approach to depicting the development of a project often borders on kitsch: saturated colors, patterns, and objects create bold, unconventional compositions designed to either amuse the viewer or provoke thought. The symbols of the flower and the vase are further integrated into a temporary emblem marking this celebratory 10th anniversary.
