The Bohemian Heritage Fund is a Czech private philanthropic fund with the aim of supporting the best artistic projects that present cultural and national heritage to the highest possible degree and help strengthen and develop Czech national identity, both at home and abroad. One such project is the work of the leading Czech artist Krištof Kintera and his new iconic object – a sculpture called Klacek se modlí / Praying Wood, for which a catalogue has been created, also presenting his temporary work and the artist's life. The concept of the catalogue is inspired by Kintera's interest in used, raw materials of various kinds. The catalogue is organized in simple folders, evoking project documentation, made of natural brown kraft paper. The sheets are attached to the plates with a simple metal clasp. Some of the photographs are pasted into the catalogue with yellow and black washi tape. The main headings are handwritten precisely because the author himself adds handwritten notes to his works. Longer texts are then set in Geomanist font from the Spanish typefoundry Atipo Foundry – even more important parts of the texts are underlined. The physical form of the articulated, yet simple catalogue, which also features the artist's sketch of the Praying Wood sculpture on its cover, was created by hand in collaboration with the Reformat bookbinding workshop.
