Sofie

The dance performance Sofia is Zdenka Josefi’s one-woman show about the desire for physical perfection but inner void. The central motifs of its visual identity are the images of dance gestures and facial expressions, logotype and motto of the performance. By modifying and mirroring the ligature of two letters of the title arise a symbol which can be seen as a note or a dancing figure. A poster, invitation, flipbook, trailer and online output were created for the production.

For use of the international conference Unfinished Justice: Restitution and Remembrance, hosted at the European Parliament under the auspices of the European Shoah Legacy Institute (ESLI), there was created a logotype and accompanying material of different kind (catalog, banners, printed material, website, etc.)

The logo, a simple symbol of a house, complemented by a line that transforms the symbol into the Star of David, depicts the conference topic, which is the return of property to the families of Jewish Holocaust victims. The logo, as the layout of the printed material, combines black and magenta, the colors used by ESLI. Multiplying the logo makes a pattern, applied to most visual identity outputs.
