TRUE TO FORM

The exhibition True To Form, initiated by art consultant and curator Julie Bergmann, who focuses primarily on contemporary jewellery, was created in collaboration with the Czech Centre Athens and the Ilias Lalaounis Jewelry Museum in Athens. The extensive exhibition of twenty-four artists presented distinctive icons of Czech jewellery across the generations, whose different approaches do not exclude use of any technology, material or concept. The visual presentation of the exhibition is reflected in several printed materials, one of which is an extensive catalogue. The main visual element is the distinctive letters - the first letter of the surname of each of the exhibiting artists. These are arranged in a grid composition and connected by a line which winds between the letters. The subtle but visible connection evokes strung beads as the most basic and recognisable form of jewellery. At the same time, like the exhibition itself, it connects the individual artists into a common whole.
